I stopped by Paul and Stef’s to get some dryer sheets before headed to Vista Verde today. These aren’t just any dryer sheets. These are the most potent and whonkiest smelling dryer sheets you can find! These babies will keep the deer at bay for sure. Deer like to eat our grapes. Deer don’t like things that smell strongly.
Their sense of smell is very sensitive. Things like rosemary and lavender (and some people claim roses, but really they’re more for ascetics) are sometimes planted in vineyards to drive the deer away, but Paul and Stef have found dryer sheets to be highly effective. With a bandana over my face (not because I was robbing a bank in the Old West, but to protect myself from the stink) I roamed the property hanging dryer sheets on posts.

I LOVE all of your pictures! Keep them coming - along with your delightful story-telling! I’m picking out all of the things I want to do when I get there. I wish I could come a week earlier so I could have more time there!
